The Hour of AI:

A Generation-Defining Moment

The Hour of AI is a bold new initiative to demystify AI for 25 million students, educators, and families by inviting them to engage in hands-on learning experiences that change them from passive consumers of AI to confident creators. We invite you to be part of this transformational movement.

Why It Matters

AI is transforming how we live, learn, and work — but most learners still don’t understand how AI works, what it can and can’t do, or how to use it responsibly and creatively. Without action, the same students who have historically lacked access to high-quality STEM education risk being excluded from the AI era too.

The Hour of AI will be the world's largest and most inclusive AI learning event, reaching classrooms, companies, and communities globally. It launches during CSEdWeek in December this year with opportunities to participate throughout 2026.

It unifies the community around a common purpose:

  • A clear, accessible entry point for AI literacy

  • Proven tools and curriculum, ready for the classroom and beyond

  • A collective movement to make AI education foundational, not optional

The Hour of AI is for Everyone

Approachable activities for students and adults spark imagination and empower participants to envision how they can shape a better future with AI.

They’ll explore how AI works — how outputs are shaped by data, prompts, and human choices — and consider its social and ethical implications.

Who can participate in the Hour of AI?

  • Every learner. Students and parents. In school and out. In classrooms, libraries, and living rooms. Across every subject, in every country — no experience required.

  • Every teacher. Most teachers haven’t learned about AI. They will access free, high-quality resources to integrate AI into their subject, during the Hour of AI and beyond.

  • Every leader. Leading in the age of AI requires vision and policy. The Hour of AI is a catalyst for bold, systemwide change.

Our Bold Goals
  • Engage 25 million students and adults, reaching 100 million people globally.

  • Mobilize 100,000 educators to lead AI experiences, including 1,000 districts in the U.S.

  • Engage 1,000 policymakers.

  • Partner with 1,000 organizations across education, industry, and government.

How You Can Help

This is a moment for shared leadership. We cannot do this alone. The Hour of AI will be driven by hundreds of partners across tech, education, and government. Here’s how you or your organization can take part:

  • Promote and amplify the campaign across your platforms.

  • Host your own Hour of AI event.

  • Mobilize your employees to do an Hour of AI themselves or assist teachers.

  • Sponsor the campaign’s reach, tools, and global impact.

This is how we build a future where every student — not just a privileged few — can shape the technology that will shape their lives.
