King George Elementary School is one of three elementary schools in King George County Virginia. We are very pleased to be one of this years CS 100 schools. Our student population is about 645. We are a Title 1 School with students from a wide range of backgrounds. Our county is home to the Navel Surface Warfare Dahlgren Division. While some of our students have families who work on the base or are enlisted with the Navy, we have many other students who live in poverty. At King George Elementary School every student attends STEM class for about 40 minutes each each week as part of their specials rotation. All of our students in King George Elementary School have some experience with coding. We use programs like code.org and scratch. We also use hands-on materials such as Dash and Dot Robots, Ozobots and Bee-Bots.
