It has been hailed by schools across the country as unique, dynamic, and even critical to career success. We are talking about a student-centered, authentic, design-based approach to mobile app development. MAD-learn enables students to create mobile applications–even one for their school–by developing and applying a wide range of vital and transferable skills directly aligned with ISTE student standards.

This widely adopted program is recognized by the Change the Equation Foundation and serves as a solid frame of reference and makes the concept of app building more accessible to a broader range of students. Apps can be created with or without coding skills and allows a range of scheduling options (delivered over the course of anywhere from 10 to 35 hours). MAD-learn follows the design thinking process. There are an array of materials teachers can use and share to effectively deliver the program to students in grades 3-12.

Students become…

• Empowered learners

• Digital Citizens

• Knowledge constructors

• Innovative designers

• Computational thinkers

• Creative communicators

• Global collaborators

MAD-learn gives students a powerful tool that allows them to easily build content-rich, visually impressive mobile apps. The program also enables students to quickly see the finished product on both iOS and Android devices and use technology creation as a means of serving the community, solving problems, building entrepreneurship skills, and sharing ideas with the world.
