Over the past few months, the CSforAll Board, leadership, and community have been working closely together to reflect on the changing landscape of computer science education and develop strategic plans for the chapter ahead.
Since CSforAll’s founding in 2017, we’ve been proud to help expand access to high-quality K–12 computer science, supporting over 1,400 organizational commitments, training hundreds of SCRIPT facilitators, and helping districts nationwide build strong CS pathways for all students. When we paused operations in December, we knew that the CS education movement faced challenges, but we also knew the moment was shifting. With AI now reshaping how students learn, how teachers teach, and what it means to be digitally literate, we’ve begun to reassess how we deliver on our mission in ways that reflect the world students are entering. The need for future-ready CS and AI education is greater than ever—and we are evolving to meet it.
That’s why we are excited to announce that as a first step of our new chapter, CSforAll will be combining forces with Code.org on a new campaign focused on unlocking opportunity for all students. By uniting Code.org’s proven infrastructure, reach and policy wins with CSforAll’s grassroots network and coalition power—we will be able to speak with one voice and drive campaigns that will shape the next decade of CS and AI learning. Together, we’re forming the alliances that this moment demands.
This joint effort marks a pivotal opportunity to ensure students don’t just use AI – they understand how it works, create with it confidently, and apply the computational thinking that will define their futures. This is just the beginning. We’re excited for what’s ahead as we continue advancing CS education for ALL.
